Embarrassing. But not the story.

The story is what Anthropic shipped this Tuesday: a ground-up redesign of Claude Code that lets a single developer run four AIs at once — one refactoring code, one fixing a bug, one writing docs, one building a new feature — all from one window. Plus Routines, a new feature that runs AI automations on Anthropic's cloud while your laptop is closed.

Developers are the canary. But the mental model — the orchestrator seat — is coming for every knowledge job.

Payroll errors cost more than you think

While many businesses are solving problems at lightspeed, their payroll systems seem to stay stuck in the past. Deel's free Payroll Toolkit shows you what's actually changing in payroll this year, which problems hit first, and how to fix them before they cost you. Because new compliance rules, AI automation, and multi-country remote teams are all colliding at once.

Check out the free Deel Payroll Toolkit today and get a step-by-step roadmap to modernize operations, reduce manual work, and build a payroll strategy that scales with confidence.

Anthropic just rebuilt Claude Code around parallel AI sessions and scheduled automations. The "using AI" era (one prompt, one answer, wait) is ending. The "managing AI" era — where you supervise 3-4 AI workers in parallel — just began. Here's a prompt that finds which parts of your job could already run on autopilot.

Two releases, same day, same logic.

The redesign. Claude Code's desktop app now has a multi-session sidebar. Each session runs in its own isolated copy of the project, so a mistake in one doesn't break the others. One reviewer described the shift as the difference between a junior dev (one task, finish it, next task) and a tech lead (four things in flight, pick up whichever is unblocked).

Routines (research preview). Scheduled AI automations that run on Anthropic's cloud — three trigger types: schedule (cron-style), API webhook, or GitHub event. Pro users get 5 routines a day, Max gets 15, Team and Enterprise get 25. Your laptop doesn't need to be on. The AI just... runs.

Think of Routines as the "set it and forget it" version of AI. A docs feedback form triggers a routine, Claude opens a session with the relevant repo, drafts the fix, opens a pull request. No human touched the keyboard.

🧠 Why This Isn't Just About Coders

For three years, "using AI" meant typing a prompt and waiting. One chat, one answer. That era just ended for developers — and it's ending for everyone else on about an 18-month lag.

If you're a marketer: one AI drafting campaign briefs, one analyzing last quarter's performance, one writing email sequences. You jump between them as results land.

If you're in finance: one AI reconciling accounts, one flagging anomalies, one drafting the board memo. Same model. Same seat.

People who stay in "one thing at a time" mode won't get fired. They'll get lapped — by the coworker who figured out the orchestrator playbook six months earlier.

💡 Start Today

You don't need Claude Code to think like an orchestrator. You need to audit your week and find the 2-3 recurring tasks that could run without you — your personal version of a Routine.

The Prompt (Copy This)

You're going to help me find which parts of my job could run on autopilot using AI.

Before you answer, ask me these five questions one at a time, waiting for my answer before moving to the next:

1. What's your job title and industry?
2. How big is your company (solo, small team, mid-size, or enterprise)?
3. Walk me through a typical workweek — what recurring tasks show up every week?
4. Which of those tasks drain the most mental energy but don't actually require your judgment?
5. What AI tools are you already paying for (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Gemini, etc.)?

Once you have my five answers, do three things:

First, identify my top 3 "Routine candidates" — recurring tasks I could automate to run on a schedule or trigger without me.

Second, for each candidate, write the exact prompt I'd use to run it, describe what would trigger it (day of week, inbox arrival, calendar event, Slack mention, etc.), and name the specific tool from my stack that could execute it today.

Third, rank all three by estimated hours saved per week and flag which one I should automate first — with a reason why that one wins.

Be specific to my role, my company size, and the tools I named. No generic advice, no filler.

The "wait and type the next thing" era of AI is over. The people who figure out how to run three of these in parallel while they answer email are about to pull away from everyone who doesn't.

Developers saw it first. You have about 18 months.
