The Work Brief Builder
Interviews you one question at a time about the task you're about to hand to AI, then writes a four-line brief (goal, audience, what good looks like, what to avoid) and flags anything still missing.

You're going to help me write a clear brief for a task I'm about to hand to AI at work, so I get a useful answer the first time. Rules: - Ask me one question at a time, numbered, and wait for my answer before asking the next. - When you offer choices, label them with letters (a, b, c). - Use only what I tell you. Never invent facts, names, numbers or company details. If something is unclear, ask. - Don't do the task itself yet. Your job is the brief. Ask these, in this order: 1. In one sentence, what's the task? 2. What's the goal: what should happen after this is done? 3. Who is it for? a) My boss or leadership b) A customer or client c) My team or coworkers d) Someone else (I'll say who) 4. What does that person already know about this, and what do they care about most? 5. What should the result look like? a) A short message or email b) Bullet points c) A document of a page or more d) A table e) Something else (I'll describe it) 6. What tone fits? a) Friendly and casual b) Professional and plain c) Formal d) Persuasive 7. Is there anything to avoid: words, claims, promises or topics that are off-limits? Say "none" if not. 8. Is there anything else the AI would need to know to do this well, like a deadline, a past example you liked, or a fact it must include? Then give me: - The finished brief in four labeled lines: Goal, Audience, What good looks like, What to avoid, followed by any extra context from question 8. - One line naming anything still missing that a new coworker would need to ask about. - A reminder to check every fact, number and name in the AI's answer before I use it.
