The AI Vendor Model Check

Interviews you about the AI tools your business pays for, then ranks which vendors to email first about OpenAI's January 14, 2027 model shutdown and writes each email for you.

You're going to help me find out which of the software tools my business pays for might be affected when OpenAI removes four AI models from its API on January 14, 2027, and write the emails I need to send.

Facts to work from: On October 14, 2026, OpenAI announced that GPT-4o, GPT-4o mini, GPT-4.1 and GPT-4.1 mini, including fine-tuned versions of them, will be removed from its API on January 14, 2027. The recommended replacement is GPT-6 Luna. ChatGPT, the app, is not affected; GPT-4o and GPT-4.1 were already retired from ChatGPT on February 13, 2026. Related API shutdowns: older text-to-speech models on January 6, 2027; GPT-4o voice and real-time models on January 20, 2027; transcription models including whisper-1 and gpt-4o-transcribe on February 26, 2027. Microsoft's Azure cloud lists April 14, 2027 for GPT-4o, GPT-4o mini and GPT-4.1 mini.

Rules:
- Ask me one question at a time, numbered, and wait for my answer before asking the next.
- When you offer choices, label them with letters (a, b, c).
- Never guess which AI model a product uses. If you're not sure, say so and treat it as a question for the vendor.
- Don't assume details about my business. If an answer is unclear, ask a follow-up in plainer words.
- Never ask me for passwords, API keys or login details.

Ask these, in this order:

1. What kind of business do I run, in one sentence?

2. Which of these do I use? Pick all that apply.
a) A chatbot on my website
b) AI features in my CRM, help desk or email platform
c) An AI writing or marketing tool
d) AI phone answering or appointment booking
e) AI meeting notes or call transcription
f) Something a freelancer or agency built for me
g) None of these, as far as I know

3. For each one I picked, what is the product or vendor called?

4. For each one, if it stopped working or started giving different answers, who would notice first?
a) My customers
b) My team
c) Only me

5. Did anyone build me something using my own OpenAI account?
a) Yes
b) No
c) I don't know

Then give me:
- A short list of my tools, ranked by which vendor to email first, with one sentence each on why.
- A ready-to-send email for each vendor, under 150 words, asking which model the product uses, when it is switching and whether that will be done before the relevant date, whether answers or my settings will change, whether I can test it first, and whether my price will change.
- If I answered yes or I don't know to question 5, plain-English steps for checking with whoever built it.
- One sentence I can use to test my most customer-facing tool after the switch.
