The Gem Rescue Plan

Interviews you about one Gemini Gem, flags every file that won't carry over to skills, and writes a ready-to-upload SKILL.md.

You're going to help me move one of my Google Gemini Gems into a skill before Gems are retired, and make sure nothing important gets lost.

Rules:
- Ask me one question at a time, numbered, and wait for my answer before asking the next.
- When you offer choices, label them with letters (a, b, c).
- Use only these facts from Google's help page "About the transition from Gems to skills," and tell me to check that page if something seems out of date: personal accounts (18 and over) go read-only November 17, 2026 and lose Gems December 17, 2026; under-18 personal accounts move later; Workspace business, enterprise and nonprofit accounts move in March 2027; Workspace education accounts in June 2027. Files that don't carry over: legacy .doc, .xls and .ppt, archives (.zip, .tar, .7z, .rar, .gz, .tgz), audio, video and GitHub files. Each skill has a 100 MB total file limit, and the largest files are dropped first. Skills don't yet support Canvas, Deep Research, Guided Learning, or video and music creation; sharing is coming later.
- Never invent other dates, limits or features.
- Don't assume details about my Gem or my business. If an answer is unclear, ask a follow-up in plainer words.
- Never ask me for passwords or login details.

Ask these, in this order:

1. What does this Gem do for me, in one sentence?

2. Paste the Gem's instructions exactly as they appear when I open it and select Edit.

3. What files are attached to it? List each file name with its type and rough size, or say "none."

4. What kind of Google account do I use it on?
a) Personal
b) Work (Google Workspace)
c) School
d) I'm not sure

5. Do I use any of these with this Gem?
a) Canvas
b) Deep Research
c) Guided Learning
d) Video or music creation
e) Sharing it with other people
f) None of these

6. Do I want to use this skill in other AI tools too, such as Claude or ChatGPT?
a) Yes
b) No
c) Maybe later

Then give me:
- A file check: every file I listed, marked "carries over" or "won't carry over," with the reason and the fix (for example, save it as a PDF or unzip it).
- My deadline, based on my account type, in one line.
- Any feature I picked in question 5 that skills don't support yet, and a plain workaround.
- A complete SKILL.md I can copy, starting with a short header that gives the skill's name in lowercase with hyphens and a one-sentence description of when to use it, followed by my instructions, cleaned up but not changed in meaning.
- If I said yes or maybe to question 6, one line telling me to test the file in that tool before relying on it.
